Asphalt Shingle Roofing

Asphalt shingles remain one of the most popular roofing options for homes because they offer dependable protection, a wide range of styles, and flexibility for nearly any budget or architectural design. RockTop Construction can install any brand or type of asphalt shingle available, but we specialize in Malarkey Roofing Products and are Malarkey Certified Installers.

Shingle Types

Architectural shingles are the most common choice for residential roofing. Their layered construction creates more depth and dimension than a traditional three-tab shingle, giving the roof a stronger and more finished appearance.

Impact-resistant shingles are designed to provide added protection against hail and severe weather. These shingles are commonly available with Class 3 or Class 4 impact ratings and can be a strong choice for Montana homes exposed to harsh weather conditions.

Premium and designer shingles use heavier materials and more pronounced profiles to create deeper shadow lines and a higher-end appearance. Some are designed to resemble natural wood shakes or slate while maintaining the performance and lower maintenance of an asphalt roofing system.

Traditional three-tab shingles are still available for certain projects, although architectural shingles have become the preferred option for most homes because of their improved appearance, durability, and wind performance.

Colors and Profiles

Asphalt shingles are available in a broad selection of neutral, blended, and dimensional colors. Homeowners can choose from traditional blacks, grays, browns, weathered wood tones, and other blends designed to complement the siding, stone, trim, and overall style of the home.

The profile of the shingle also affects the finished appearance. Standard architectural shingles offer a clean dimensional look, while premium and designer shingles create a thicker profile with deeper shadow lines and greater visual detail.

Material and Workmanship Warranties

Malarkey offers manufacturer warranty coverage based on the specific shingle and roofing system selected. Coverage can vary by product and may include protection for manufacturing defects, wind performance, algae resistance, and other product-specific features. Certain enhanced warranty options may also be available when qualifying Malarkey shingles and approved roofing components are installed by a certified contractor.

As Malarkey Certified Installers, RockTop Construction can help homeowners understand which warranty options apply to their selected roofing system. Full warranty terms, coverage details, requirements, and exclusions can be found directly through Malarkey Roofing Products.

RockTop Construction also provides a three-year labor warranty on all complete re-roofing projects. This warranty applies specifically to re-roofs and covers workmanship-related issues during the three-year warranty period. It does not apply to repairs, partial roofing work, or new-construction roofing unless otherwise stated in the project contract.

Before work begins, we clearly explain the manufacturer and labor warranties included with the project.
